LADY WILDCATS FINISH THIRD IN QOM DUALS

MILL HALL – The Central Mountain Lady Wildcats finished the day with a 3-3 duals record, which allowed them to take a third place finish in the 8-team Queen Of The Mountain Duals Tournament in the Central Mountain gym Sunday afternoon.
The 8-Teams were broken into two four team brackets and the Lady Wildcats were 1-2 in Pool matches. They dropped their opener to Curwensville by a narrow 33-30 score, but then bounced back and handled State College by a 54-6 count. The Lady Wildcats then dropped a 60-18 contest to the top seeded Lady Spartans of Hughesville.
The Lady Wildcats were then seeded fifth in the 8-team elimination tournament and they posted a 41-36 win over fourth seeded Pocono Mountain West in the championship quarterfinal round. In the semifinals they ran into top seeded Hughesville again and dropped a 54-24 contest to the
Lady Spartans. They dropped into the contest for Third Place and defeated Central York by a 42-30, as Central York lost their semifinal match to second seeded Shikellamy by a 48-18 count.
Hughesville won the tournament by defeating Shikellamy 45-27, while Pocono Mountain West defeated Curwensville 48-30 for Fifth Place. Other teams in the tournament were State College and Bald Eagle Area, who both went 0-2 in the 8-team bracket tournament.
Austynn Falls led the Lady Wildcats by going 6-0 with six falls, while Kendall Wagner was 6-0 with two falls. Ashlynn Miller finished 5-1 on the day with four falls. Julia Hartman and Emma Scarborough-Perez both were 4-2 with three falls apiece. Sarah Lavallee and Alana Rhoades were both 3-3 with two falls each, while Meilin Talbot and Mersadies Caris both were 2-4 on the day.
The next action for the Lady Wildcats, now 3-4, be in the new year, as they will be at the Curwensville Tournament on Saturday, January 3rd and then will travel to the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament on Saturday, January 10th.
