Obituary – Barbara (Kinney) Ferpas
Barbara Kinney Ferpas, 72 of Johnstown, formally born and raised in Cross Fork, PA went home to heaven on October 29, 2025 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA surrounded by her family after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, three months prior.
Barbie was born on January 23, 1953 to the late Stanley and Gertrude (Summerson) Kinney. She was a 1971 graduate of Bucktail Area High School. She received her cosmetology license in 1975 from the Empire Beauty School and her CNA license in 2000. She retired from the Senior Life Center in 2022.
Barbie is survived by her son Joshua (Brittany) Ferpas, and her daughter Natalie Murvine, six grandchildren; Sarah, Irelynn, Trace, Dawson, Mia and Lena, her sister, Susie Clemmer, niece Suellen (Damon) Wagner and nephew Jake (Jenna) Clemmer.
Barbie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Rocky of 45 years who passed away on April 1, 2025, her brother Stanley II, and her brother-in-law Don Clemmer.
As per her request, there will be no services. On her phone recording, she ended with “and remember to always be kind.“ Please remember my sister for the kind, loving and compassionate person that she was.
Memorials in her honor may be sent to the Kettle Creek Fire Company in Cross for PA.
