Central Mountain Marching Band Wraps Up Busy Weekend with Strong Finish
MILL HALL — Saturday, October 11, was a busy day for the Central Mountain Marching Band. After performing in the 76th Annual Flaming Foliage Parade in Renovo, the band traveled to Williamsport Area High School to compete in a Cavalcade of Bands marching band competition.
This marked the second and final competition of the season for the Wildcats. The previous weekend, the band competed in Wellsboro as part of the Tournament of Bands circuit, earning a first-place finish in their division with a score of 69.440.
Using the judges’ feedback from that event, the band spent the week refining their show — and the improvements showed. At Williamsport, they earned a score of 75.15, good for second place in their class.
Throughout the fall, the Central Mountain Marching Band has performed at several events, including the Tussey Mountain Band Festival, multiple community parades, home football games, and the away game at Mifflin County.
The band continues to rehearse and polish both its field show and parade performances. Still ahead this season are performances at the football game against Jersey Shore, two Halloween parades, and the Lock Haven Holiday Parade.
Looking ahead, the band hopes to add more competitions to its calendar next year — and perhaps even host a show of its own. Congratulations to the band students and staff on a great season!
