Mount Carmel Tops Central Mountain 35–13 on Senior Night

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Visiting Mount Carmel scored on its first three possessions and built a commanding halftime lead on the way to a 35-13 win over Central Mountain Friday night at Malinak Stadium, which also served as Senior Night for the Wildcats.

The Red Tornadoes (now 5-4) jumped out to a 21-0 first-quarter advantage behind touchdowns from Michael Kimsal (16-yard run), Aidan Brokenshire (76-yard reception from Gavin Marshalek), and Max Karycki (14-yard catch from Marshalek). Mount Carmel added two more scores in the second quarter — a 9-yard run from Cooper Karycki and a 4-yard run from Jaylen Delaney — to take a 35-0 lead into halftime.

Central Mountain battled in the second half, getting on the board late in the third quarter when Hayes Donley broke free for a 32-yard touchdown run. The Wildcats added another score in the fourth when Dalton McDermott powered in from 3 yards out, with Mycah Carson adding the extra point.

McDermott led the Wildcats’ offense with 123 total yards (121 rushing, 23 receiving) and one touchdown. Mario Serafini paced the receivers with 98 yards on five catches, while Jacob Rembold added a 6-yard grab. Kyle Everett threw for 125 yards and also ran for 68 on 15 carries.

Mount Carmel finished with 446 total yards — 332 rushing and 114 passing — while Central Mountain totaled 352 yards of offense.

Prior to kickoff, Central Mountain recognized its senior class for their dedication and contributions to Wildcat athletics and school spirit. Football seniors honored included Gage Tressler, Mycah Carson, Jaggar Pardoe, Aamir Carrington, Dalton McDermott, Evan Hardy, Gabriel Haas, Nicholas Lose, Mario Serafini, and Richard Rohrbach. The Wildcat marching band seniors — Chloe Corbin, Jacob Flook, Connor Kleckner, and Vayda Schenck — and cheerleading seniors — Emma Chapman, Erika Mills, Gracelyn Stacey, and Layla Hayes — were also recognized for their commitment and leadership throughout their high school careers.

The Wildcats (0-8) will close out the regular season on the road. First with a visit next week when they travel to face Troy (7-1) and finally the following week at Jersey Shore against the Bulldogs.
