Central Columbia Tops Central Mountain in Girls Tennis

BLOOMSBURG – The Central Mountain girls tennis team traveled to Central Columbia on Thursday and came up short, falling 4-1 to the host Lady Blue Jays.

In singles play, Central Columbia’s Casandra Marle defeated Lucy Walker 6-2, 6-0, while Sydney Barry topped Lane Walker 6-3, 6-2. Central Mountain picked up its lone win of the day when Kassie Williams outlasted Trul-Nhu Nguyen 6-1, 2-6, 10-5.

In doubles, Savana Thomas and Zoe Seely downed Audra Eaton and Kylee Markle 6-2, 6-0, while Alexis Kulp and Chloe Winters defeated Tess Akeley and Leah Wian 6-1, 6-2.

The Lady Wildcats will look to bounce back in their next match Wednesday at Atloona.
