Director of KCSD Property Services Provides Thorough Update on District Facilities Leading to Beginning of 2025-26 School Year

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Sam Hoy, Director of Property Services, gave a lengthy yet in-depth presentation on the work being completed district-wide in preparation for the beginning of the 2025-26 school year.
Summer 2025 Facilities Projects:
CMHS – Gym RTUs (September 2025, library renovations (December 2025), locker room hallways (gymnasium entrance) painting, door painting, concrete floor grinding (20+ classrooms), gym floor screen/coat, grease trap maintenance, water jet sewer lines
Bucktail – Tennis courts, shed removal from softball field, gym floor screen/coat
CMMS – Science classroom furniture, sidewalks, library classroom, gym floor screen/coat, grease trap maintenance, water jet sewer lines
Renovo Elementary – Walk-in cooler compressor and evaporator replacement
Mill Hall Elementary – Building automation, interior painting of entire building, front entry floor replacement, grease trap maintenance, water jet sewer lines
Robb Elementary – Walk-in cooler compressor and evaporator replacement, bathroom partitions, shrub removal, paving along Washington Street, hallway floor replacement 1st/2nd floor
Woodward Elementary – Interior painting of entire building, gym flooring, shed replacement, tree stump removal, water jet sewer lines
Liberty Curtin Elementary – Finalizing construction, playground, playground fence, new furniture, in-house cleaning
CTC/Admin – Door painting, machinery movements, equipment installation
Hummer Field/Track – Scoreboard installation
Board member Jeff Johnston commended Hoy, saying that seeing the list and number of things accomplished over the last two months is “truly amazing,” adding that he and his teams have done a phenomenal job working within the budgets in a very short amount of time.
“With the ability to use local vendors, we are able to keep our tax dollars here within the district,” Hoy said.
Board member Elisabeth Lynch expressed the wish to start a “Facilities Crew Member of the Month,” and a “Kitchen Staff Member of the Month” award and presentation for staff members.
