Obituary – Marianne Womeldorf

Marianne Womeldorf, 89, formerly of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Wilmington, NC.
Born in Germany on December 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Johann W. and Christina Rosskopf Braun.
On March 20, 1954, she married Kenneth Cephas Womeldorf, who preceded her in death June 7, 2016.
Marianne was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, attending St. Agnes Catholic Church, Lock Haven.
Marianne had a passion for the outdoors and nature – especially gardening. She enjoyed camping trips with the family and she was proud to have walked the Appalachian Trail with her husband and daughter. Trained in Germany as a seamstress, Marianne was skilled at sewing her own clothing and bedding. She was a talented cook and baker, and loved to host large family gatherings. Marianne worked on the family farm for many years, and later retired from Champion Auto Parts in Lock Haven.
She is survived by a son, David K. Womeldorf of Texas; three daughters, Monica W. Schonning and Angela M. Cottle, both of North Carolina, and Linda C. Hall of Virginia; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale J. Womeldorf; two sisters, Betty Rott and Maria Baranauskas; and a grandson, Devin Womeldorf.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14 at 12:00 noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00 AM to noon.
Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Loganton, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
