Obituary – Randall D. Dunlap

Randall D. Dunlap, 83 of Swissdale passed away Friday June 27, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital. Born September 6, 1941 in Beech Creek, he was the son of Raymond M. and Olive Bess Hunter Dunlap. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Brenda Laubscher Dunlap.

Randy graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School in 1959. Over the years he worked for Eck Construction prior to employment by Piper Aircraft, Lycoming Supply, and owned and operated with his brother Mike, R&M Construction. Most recently he retired as Woodward Township Sewer Authority Manager. He was a former Beech Creek Township Supervisor and belonged to the Beech Creek/Blanchard Fire Company for many years.

Randy was an avid football fan, enjoying all football, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was a member of the Castanea Fire Company Social Club and a past member of the Sons of Italy. He always enjoyed cooking for the Durty Dabbers Events each year.

Surviving is his son Scott Dunlap and daughter Stacey Walsh (Eddie Cardenas), and his grandchildren; Jared Dunlap, Drew Dunlap, Russell Mazzotta and Tara Wilson. Also surviving are his brothers Thurlow (Marsha), Michael (Patricia) and Todd; his sisters Cynthia Wilson and Lisa Rettstatt (Michael) and numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Wayne Laubscher (Doreen).

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Lee, Terry C. and Douglas D. and a nephew Toby A. Dunlap.

Friends and Family are invited to a “Celebration of Randy’s Life” at the Dunnstown Fire Hall on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. to ?. Bring your favorite story or memory to share!
