Obituary – Ann L. Mitchell

Ann L. Mitchell, 92, of Jersey Shore, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at her home.

Ann was born in DuBoistown, Pa to Phillip and Alice A. (Hane) Baker on July 25, 1932.

On August 20, 1949, she married James H. Mitchell, Jr. who preceded her on death on Oct. 12, 1997.

She went to high school at South Williamsport and graduated in 1950. Ann was a homemaker.

She was also the neighborhood mom of East Mountain Avenue. She would walk the kids to the park, bake cookies and everyone would come to swim. Ann was a mover and a shaker; she was busy from the time she woke up until she went to bed. Rauch town state park was her favorite area for picnics. She loved watching Gunsmoke, Bonanza and WWE Wrestling. Ann had a passion for the outdoors and took great pride in her flower gardens.

She made the best coleslaw and potato salad. No meal was complete until it had a relish tray. In 1997 after her husband had passed, she moved in with her daughter, Luann and helped take care of her five grandchildren.

Ann is survived by a son David (Larry) Mitchell of Philadelphia, two daughters Luann (Michael) Remick of Avis, Teresa (John) Bowman of Salladasburg, 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren

In addition to her husband Ann is preceded in death by her two sons, Bruce and Joe Mitchell.
Mom and Dad are dancing together again dancing to their favorite music.

A Funeral Service for Ann L. Mitchell will be held at Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, Pa 17745 on Thursday, July 26, 2025 at 11AM with Pastor Susan Champion of the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church of Mill Hall officiating.

Friends and family will be received in the funeral home 1 hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to UPMC Family Hospice, especially Ann’s nurse, Jordan Brininger.
