Obituary – Francis (Fran) R. Johnson

Francis (Fran) R. Johnson, 78, of Lock Haven, PA, was peacefully ushered into heaven on February 7, 2025. He was born on April 25, 1946, to the late Robert and Helen (Shuey) Johnson. Fran was a graduate of Lock Haven High School (1964), Cedarville University (B.S.) and Xavier University (M.Ed.).

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilou Wetzel Johnson, and their two sons, Dan (Kara) Johnson and Tim (Julie) Johnson, and daughter, Bekah (Minh) Lu. Also surviving are his much loved grandchildren: Halle, Anna and Ben Johnson; Sam, Emma, Micah and Asher Johnson; and Caleb and Clara Lu. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce, Dave and Mike Johnson, and is survived by his three sisters, Barbara Johnson, Joan Eves and Paula (Tom) Randecker.

Fran was a biology teacher, junior high wrestling coach and science department chair at Bald Eagle Area High School, and then a biology teacher, varsity wrestling coach, assistant track coach and science department chair at Bellefonte Area High School. He also served as a Sunday School teacher, church deacon and pulpit supply for area churches.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 14th, 3:00 p.m., at Big Woods Bible Church, 241 South Hanna St., Lock Haven, PA. Officiating will be Pastors Tim Boger and Ron Berrus. Family and Friends will be received in the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
