Obituary – Gainell Elizabeth Confer
Gainell Elizabeth Confer was born August 1921, the daughter of Lewis and Wilette (Hahn) Hefright went to meet her Lord February 2,2025. She was a lifelong member of the Avis Methodist Church and attended the Lutheran Church while she was in Florida.
She worked in various factories and during the Second World War she worked at the Armature Plant in Mill Hall. She and her husband Walter operated the Mr. Softee trucks in the late sixties before moving to Florida in 1972. They always returned to Pa in the Summer months.
She loved riding her motorcycle and rode until she turned 94 years old. During her time when she started riding at the age of 50, she had 5 Harleys. Sadly, two were wrecked and one was stolen. For her 100th Birthday a Harley motorcycle club came to the Meadows Assisted Facility and put her in a side car and took her for a long ride and she was thrilled. It had 600,000 likes on tic tock. When she was a teenager, she played the violin in the community orchestra and gave her violin to her great granddaughter to play.
Her late Husband was Walter E. Confer, and she is survived by two daughters Sandra Kessinger (David) Kohen and Robin Confer Lawson. Seven grandchildren David (Karen) Kohen, Jeanette (John) Kaluzy, Daniel(Lori) Kohen, Susan (Chris) Birdsey Mathew Lawson, Julia Lawson, and Micheal Lawson, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, two sisters Mary Briggs and Julia Webb and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Louise Bressler.
She loved floating in the river with her Family and she especially loved dancing. She will be missed by all her family.
Funeral service for Gainell Confer will be held on Friday Feb. 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven.
Family and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to services. Officiating will be Pastor Martin Parr of the Avis United Methodist Church.
