Obituary – Donald L. Probst
Donald L. Probst, 83, of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Born December 31, 1941, he was the son of the late Forney L. and Dorothy L. Allen Probst.
Following graduation from Lock Haven High School, Don served in the United States Army and Pennsylvania National Guard until his retirement after nearly 40 years of service.
He was a member of the Beech Creek American Legion and Lock Haven Moose.
Don enjoyed traveling with his family, especially their many beach trips. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates as well as old westerns, particularly those starring John Wayne.
He is survived by five children, Deborah (David) Link of Carrolltown, Kelly (Rod) Toner of Lock Haven, Donald (Wendy) Probst, Jr. of Maryland, Cassandra (Jim Paddack) Probst of Gettysburg and Caitlin Probst of Gettysburg; two brothers, Robert (Carole) Probst of Lock Haven and Richard Probst of Vermont; four grandchildren: Austin Link, Shannon Link, Kyle Toner and Forrest Probst; two nieces, Karen Probst and Amy McBride; two nephews, Douglas and Daniel Probst; his grand-puppies, Kali and Lexi; and his grand-kitty’s, Renly, Fred and George.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Forney Probst, Jr.
Private services at the convenience of his family will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
