Scouts Spring Clean Donut Hole Trail

RENOVO – Life Scout, Gabe Janerella, Troop 137 of Renovo, recently completed a service project as a requirement to become an Eagle Scout. The service project consisted of establishing a new entrance to the Donut Hole Trail at Hyner Run State Park. It also included removing the old trail sign and renovating the old entrance with native plant life. The Jack Paulhamus Garby Trail was brushed and reblazed as part of the project as well.

The project consisted of three phases, included 21 volunteers and 134 volunteer hours. Gabe worked with DCNR District 10 Forestry, Hyner Run State Park, Boy Scout Bald Eagle District Troops 14, 26, 86 and 137. The project was made possible by donations from: DCNR District 10 Forestry, Hyner Run State Park, Tony’s Hardware, Rizzo’s Greenhouse and Jim and Sue Morgan.
