Obituary – Carole Leonard Reeser

Carole Leonard Reeser passed away on January 19th at The Legacy in Staunton, Virginia after a lengthy struggle with ALS. She was born in Renovo, Pennsylvania on August the 19th 1942 to Charles and Marie Bartholomew Leonard. On June 19,1965, in Renovo, she married her husband of 50 years, James Reeser.

After graduating from Renovo High School in 1960, she attended Lock Haven University graduating in 1964 with an Early Childhood degree in Education. Her 33 years of teaching included Selinsgrove, Williamsport, and Keystone Central school districts. She retired in 2001.

Carole’s interests were reading, quilting, gardening, antiquing, and traveling. She had been an active member of Friends of the Library, Millbrook Playhouse, The Book Club, Covenant Quilters, and the former Lock Haven Garden Club. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lock Haven.

Carole is survived by son Brian and Rhonda Reeser, son Steve and Becky Reeser, grandchildren Madi, Ally, and Brandon Reeser, all of Verona, Virginia. A brother, James (Donna) Leonard of Wellsville, New York, a niece Wendy Leonard Young, sister-in-law Pat (Harold) Steidler of York, Pennsylvania, nephews Shawn and Justin Steidler, and a brother-in-law Charles (Vicki) Reeser of Kingsport, Tennessee.

A funeral service for Carole will be held February 1st at 1:00pm at Covenant United Methodist Church in Lock Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Covenant United Methodist Church at 53 W. Main Street Lock Haven, PA 17745-1240 or the James and Carole Reeser Scholarship through the Lock Haven University Foundation, 10 Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
