Chorus Fest

PHILIPSBURG – On April 10, 2015 the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 4 Grade 5 Chorus Fest was held at Philipsburg-Osceola Area Middle School. Over 130 5th grade students and 32 directors/music teachers participated in this year’s program.

Fifth grade students throughout the district were chosen by their music directors/teachers to participate in the daylong celebration of the love of music. Chosen from Renovo Elementary this year were Charlize Kepler and Nicole Embick (pictured). Over the last couple of months they spent time with Mr. Hesser, Music Teacher at Renovo Elementary singing and practicing the songs chosen. The day of the program the girls enjoyed a day of rehearsing, meeting new friends and enjoying music.

At 7 p.m. a concert was given for friends and family to enjoy all of their hard work and dedication. Guest Conductor Miss Samantha M. Stiner, a blossoming contralto and graduate of West Chester University led the students in an enjoyable musical evening where it was evident how much the students enjoyed music.
