Team RWB New Official Chapter

team-rwbLOCK HAVEN – Team RWB Lock Haven-Williamsport received some exciting news last week. They have been upgraded from a Community to a full-fledged Chapter. The local team is now one of only twenty-three Chapters nationwide.

A Community becomes a Chapter by holding a large volume and wide variety of different activities. Events include Sunday fun runs/walks, functional fitness workouts, family bowling nights, family movie nights, social dinners and more. Members are always looking for activities throughout the community to participate in or volunteer their time.

Over the weekend, members participated in the Faith Centre 5K/King of the Hills 10K in Bellefonte as part of a larger event called “Run As One.” “Run As One” is a collaborative event between Team RWB, Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues and was started in honor of Marine Veteran Clay Hunt, an original member of Team Rubicon who took his own life after battling PTSD and depression. The team also brought awareness to the fact that every day twenty-two Veterans take their own lives due to a multitude of reasons. Now in its fourth year, “Run As One” not only serves as the celebration of a continued partnership, but is also a symbol of leadership, action and collaboration across the Veterans support landscape.

Team RWB, in conjunction with Clinton County Veterans Affairs, is currently busy planning their 2nd Annual Armed Forces Day Run scheduled for Sunday, May 17th at Bald Eagle State Park. All proceeds will benefit local Veterans. Registrations and sponsorships are still being accepted. Contact either organization for details.

Veterans, active military members and civilians of all ages are encouraged to become part of the team.

Team RWB works to enrich the lives of America’s Veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. Visit www.teamrwb.org to learn more or to become an Eagle.
