Obituary – Thomas Leslie Spring

Thomas Leslie Spring, 86, a resident of Centre Care Rehabilitation Center, Bellefonte, PA, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Mt Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA.

Tom was born in Williamsport, PA to the late Russell E. Spring and Pauline A. (Stamm) Spring.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Lock Haven. He retired from Penn Fuel Gas/UGI, Lock Haven, after many years of faithful service. He was a member of Phelps Chapel United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore, and a Charter Member of the Jersey Shore Freemason’s. He was an avid reader of western fiction and civil war history. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing or just watching birds at the many feeders he maintained. He also loved to “tinker” in his wood shop and going out for coffee with the guys.

He was preceded in death by his wife Constance L. (Moore) Spring and a sister Jennie L. Spring.

He is survived by his children James T. Spring (Halifax, PA), Jeanette (James) Lamey, Joyce (Randy) Renninger, Joan (Larry) Johnson, Jeffrey A. Spring, and their mother, Matilda Beck, all of Loganton, PA. A brother, James R. Younger, Montgomery, PA. Also, stepchildren William Moore and Colleen Sechrist, both of Wellsville, NY. Tom has 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff and friends at Centre Care for their diligent compassion for Thomas’ comfort and wellbeing.

A viewing and funeral service will be held at Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11:00 am. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to services. Officiating will be Pastor Susan Champion of the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, Mill Hall. He will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven, PA.
