LHU Women’s Basketball soars to victory over Concord in season opener
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven women’s basketball team hosted day one of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)/Mountain East Conference (MEC) Challenge on Friday night (Nov. 8) inside Thomas Fieldhouse. The Bald Eagles (1-0 overall) hosted Concord in the opening game and downed the Mountain Lions (0-1 overall), 84-67.
The Bald Eagles extend their winning streak in front of the home crowd of Thomas Fieldhouse to 20 games, dating back to 2022-23.
Behind a 20-10 opening period, The Haven led from start to finish to soar to a 17-point victory in the opener. The Bald Eagles ended the first quarter on a 14-3 run and never looked back.
Kiera Baughman led three Bald Eagles in double figures as she finished with 23 points and knocked down 13-of-13 shots from the charity stripe to cap off an impressive debut in the crimson and white.
Madeline Evans was dominant in the paint and recorded a double-double by pulling in a career-high 20 rebounds to go with 18 points (8-of-10 FTs).
Jenadia Jordan added 12 points and four rebounds, while Sydney Lear dished out four assists in 13-quality minutes off the bench.
The Haven did most of its damage at the charity stripe and shot a game-high 81 percent on 35-of-43 attempts.
In the final game of the night, PSAC’s Seton Hill upset MEC’s No. 7 Fairmont State, 77-73.

The Bald Eagles will host No. 7 Fairmont State inside Thomas Fieldhouse on Saturday night (Nov. 9) to conclude the PSAC/Mountain East Conference Challenge. Concord will face Seton Hill at 6 p.m. to kick off the night.
