Central Mountain Girls Tennis Falls to Danville, 4-1
DANVILLE-The Central Mountain girls tennis team faced a tough opponent in Danville Area High School on Saturday morning, falling 4-1 in a challenging match.
Central Mountain’s top singles player, Addison Lindsay, was the lone bright spot for the Wildcats, as she dominated her opponent, Josie Bendle, with a convincing 6-0, 6-0 victory. Lindsay’s performance showcased her consistency and control on the court.
However, the rest of the team struggled to find their rhythm against a strong Danville squad. In the second singles match, Gyovanna Sunderson of Danville defeated Ellie Harry 6-0, 6-0. Alexa Preisz followed suit in the third singles match, overpowering Emily Brinker of Central Mountain by the same scoreline, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles action, Danville continued to exert their dominance. The team of Cassie Shellenberger and Elyse Spahr bested Central Mountain’s Audra Eaton and Kassie Williams, 6-0, 6-1. Meanwhile, Danville’s Hazel Gatski and Sarah Bhanushali completed the sweep in doubles, defeating Central Mountain’s Amelia Svederus and Natalie Shaffer, 6-1, 6-2.
