CCAC And BEAL Art Organizations Team Up for April 3 Show

LOCK HAVEN – Coming up on April 3 will be the opening of the first annual combined show for the CCAC and BEAL art organizations. The “members only” show will include pieces from each art organization which will first jury in their own member’s works. Then the two groups’ artworks will be judged together for award ribbons at the final exhibit.

This exhibit will be held at the home of the Clinton Co. Arts Council/Station Gallery in Lock Haven, PA. The brainchild of CCAC President, Steve Getz, it is the result of focused efforts to pull together the artistic talents both our cities offer. Being located in Central Pennsylvania, the audience and opportunity for all artists in the area needs to be widened and encouraged. By the joint efforts of these groups, it is possible to provide many varied workshops, additional venues for shows and creative thought-building forums.

“Both organizations do wonderful things for their members…but bringing those offerings to both groups makes each one have a full palette of art opportunities.” said Getz. “BEAL has presented workshops and demonstrations by noted art professionals, and in addition to providing a wonderful gallery space, CCAC has sponsored bus trips to museums in large cities reached in a day-trip. To offer these things to both groups allows us to tap into more things for more people. It helps to make us better informed as artists.”

Bald Eagle Art League president, Mickey Mapstone also looks forward to the event, and said “I believe the Combination Show between the CCAC and the BEAL is an excellent opportunity in combining the two art groups to form a stronger ‘art force’ in our area and in the surrounding counties. This has been a partnership that started as an idea between four of us, Carol, Steve, Judy O and I, a brainstorming session less than a year ago and has mushroomed into not just a collaboration of two non-profit art organizations, but combined workshops, meetings, bus trips and now the ultimate (for me), a grand combination juried art exhibition. I can’t be any happier.” The Bald Eagle Art League will host the combined show next year in Williamsport at the Thomas Taber Museum.

This show is a great opportunity for artists to stretch their art wings and share the wealth of talent in our area! Mark your calendars to attend the opening on April 3 from 6-9 PM. The show will run from April 3 – April 25, 2015. The gallery is located at 2 East Bald Eagle Street, Lock Haven, PA in the beautifully renovated train station building.
