MILL HALL-The Central Mountain Lady Wildcats soccer team faced a tough challenge for their home opener Monday night, falling 3-0 to a strong Danville squad. Danville controlled the game from early on, with Isabella Reedy finding the back of the net at the 21:36 mark to give her team the lead. The pressure continued after halftime, as Lauren Law extended Danville’s advantage with a goal at 47:20. Cleo Hummel sealed the victory with a final goal at 64:27.
Danville’s attack proved relentless, outshooting Central Mountain 18-3 and putting nine shots on goal. Central Mountain goalkeeper Cora Seyler made an impressive 11 saves to keep her team in the contest, but the Wildcats struggled to generate offensive opportunities, managing just two shots on goal. Madison Harris, Danville’s goalkeeper, made two saves to preserve the shutout.
Despite a spirited effort from the Wildcats, they were unable to break through Danville’s defense.
Central Mountain will look to regroup and bounce back as they prepare to travel to Midd-West High School for a game on Wednesday.
