Breon’s Overtime Goal Lifts Central Mountain to 2-1 Win Over South Williamsport
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT-Sugar Valley native Lincoln Breon delivered when it mattered most, scoring twice, including the game-winner in double overtime, to lead the Wildcats to a thrilling 2-1 victory over South Williamsport on Monday evening.
With just 12 minutes left in regulation and Central Mountain trailing by one, Breon launched a 30-yard shot into the net to tie the game at 1-1. After a scoreless first overtime, Breon struck again just one minute into the second overtime period. Griffin Confer delivered a well-placed pass to Breon, who found space in the box and fired home the winning goal with his left foot, securing the Wildcats’ win.
The goals were Breon’s second and third of the season, bringing his career total to nine. Confer’s pass earned him his first assist of the season.
Goalkeeper Jaggar Pardoe played a key role in the victory, making five saves in 91 minutes of action to earn his third win of the season, while keeping South Williamsport to just one goal.
The Central Mountain JV team also had success, winning their game 4-0 in a match shortened by darkness, marking their second win in three games.
The Wildcats, now sitting at 3-1-1 on the season, return to action Tuesday night at home for their PHAC opener against Selinsgrove. They hope to build on this momentum as they begin conference play and aim to keep their strong season moving forward.
