KCSD shows budget surplus in revised 24-25 budget

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Keystone Central School District Business Manager Joni MacIntyre presented the revised 24-25 school year budget to the board at Thursday evening’s work session.
The final PDE budget that was submitted by KCSD prior to the state budget being passed had shown a $417,053 shortfall.
“They then passed a budget and we ended up having an almost $375,000 surplus,” MacIntyre reported to the board. The total amount of the surplus is $377,692. There now remains $18.2 million in reserves.
Additional revenue from the state was reported at $794,745. This figure comes from the following subsidies: Basic Education Subsidy with an increase of $28,717, Ready to learn Adequacy Subsidy with an increase of $489,536, Special Education Subsidy with an increase of $168,817, and a Career and Technical Subsidy with an increase of $108,285. All of these figures were an increase as compared to monies received in school year 23-24.
The revenues that fund the budget come from: Local Sources at 44% of the budget ($39.5 million), State Sources at 52% (46.3 million), and Federal Sources at 4% ($3.3 million) to make up the total revenue of $89.1 million.
The exact amount of the KCSD budget for 24-25 rests at $89,159,588.
