Keystone 8-10s Victorious Over Loyalsock 9-6
MONTOURSVILLE-The Keystone 8-10’s secured a thrilling 9-6 victory over the Loyalsock in a closely contested game on Thursday at Montoursville.
Keystone took the lead early, with Deagen Stover grounding out to bring in the first run in the bottom of the first inning. Loyalsock responded quickly, tying the game in the top of the second inning when Jackson K stole home. The Loyalsock team then took a brief lead in the top of the third inning with a single by Ried F, making it 2-1.
The game took a turn in the bottom of the third when Deagen Stover hit a triple, driving in three runs and giving Keystone 10s a 4-2 lead. Loyalsock fought back in the top of the fifth inning, with Ben G delivering a single that brought in two runs, pushing Loyalsock ahead 6-4.
However, the bottom of the fifth inning saw Keystone turn the game around dramatically. A single by Jaxon Orndorf on a full count brought in two runs, contributing to a five-run inning that put Keystone 10s ahead 9-6.
Hunter Packer earned the win for Keystone, pitching two innings and surrendering only two runs (one earned) on three hits, with two strikeouts and no walks. Jaxon Orndorf started on the mound, delivering a solid performance over four innings with six hits and four runs (three earned), striking out four and walking two. Ben G took the loss for Loyalsock, giving up five runs on one hit over two innings, with four walks and two strikeouts.
At the plate, Deagen Stover led Keystone with four RBIs, while Callen Bechdel, Jaxon Orndorf, Aldin DeMarte, and Bentley Leone each contributed one hit. Keystone showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks and stealing 11 bases throughout the game.
With the win the Keystone 8-10’s will move into the Winners Bracket Championship game Monday at Long Run, 5:45p.m.
