LHU’s Henson to represent Team USA at U23 Pan-American Championships

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven men’s wrestling standout Wyatt Henson has been selected to represent the United States at the 2024 U23 Pan-American Championships, scheduled for June 21-22 in Rionegro, Columbia.

Henson’s selection to Team USA comes after the 2024 NCAA Division I national qualifier finished second at the United States’ U23 World Team Trials, held June 1-2 in Geneva, Ohio.

Henson was one of two Bald Eagles that earned U23 All-American freestyle honors. Two-time NCAA Division I All-American Anthony Noto was seventh at the event. Henson and Noto were two of 14 Lock Haven wrestlers that competed in event.

Joining Henson in Columbia will be former Lock Haven standout Chance Marsteller, who will serve as Henson’s personal coach. Marsteller’s trip is being funded by the Mat-Town USA Wrestling Club. Marsteller, a 2019 Lock Haven graduate recently competed at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in April.

Following the 2018-19 season, Marsteller’s final season at The Haven, he was named both the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Year. During the 2017-18 season, Marsteller won a school-record 44 matches.
