Obituary – James P. “Jimmy” Dennehy, III

James P. “Jimmy” Dennehy, III, 65, of Lock Haven, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024. 

Born August 15, 1958 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late James P. “Irish” and Patricia A. “Patsy” Myers Dennehy. 

Jimmy attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic School before graduating from Lock Haven High School, class of 1977.

He was employed as a Food Supervisor at Lock Haven University for over 10 years. 

Jimmy was a lifetime member of the Lock Haven Elk’s Lodge #182, where he was honored to serve as past Exalted Ruler. 

Jimmy had a passion for spending time on “the river” – enjoying slalom and barefoot water skiing in the summer and ice skating in the winter.  He also loved attending concerts and had a big heart for animals, especially his two late dogs, Poncho and Jinx. 

He is survived by two sisters, Meg (Bob) Dennehy-Fowler and Patty (Tom) Dennehy-Chitwood, both of McElhattan; an uncle, George (Tony) Myers of New Jersey; his close friend, Tammy Desmond Rager, of Mill Hall; and many cousins. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two uncles, Robert (Rose) Dennehy and Thomas (Shirley) Myers; and three aunts, Phyllis (Billy Lee) Walker, Peggy (Jack) Miller and Jeanne (Wes) Maggs. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 5 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Jimmy’s longtime friend, Dwight Bolin, of Mt. Eagle Church of Christ, officiating. 

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 P.M. until the time of the service. 

Private graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lock Haven, 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Clinton County SPCA.
