LHU’s Bellomo & Muthler named to Men’s Track & Field All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS – Lock Haven men’s outdoor track and field standouts Peter Bellomo (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) and Matthew Muthler (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) have both been named to the 2024 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Atlantic Region Team in the javelin and decathlon, respectively.

Following the 2024 regular season, the top-five individuals in each event earned All-Region honors.
Bellomo ranked second in the Atlantic Region in the javelin and Muthler ranked third in the region in the decathlon.

Most recently, Bellomo placed second in the javelin at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship (May 5). Bellomo made his official collegiate debut in mid-March and it was a memorable one. Right off the bat, he threw 208-00. The remarkable throw is the fifth-best mark in Lock Haven history and stood as the 22nd best mark this season in all of Division II.

At the 2024 Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic (April 13-14), Muthler turned in an impressive two-day performance in the decathlon and finished with 6,456 points. Muthler’s two-day total of 6,456 points was a personal-best, a PSAC and NCAA championship qualifying mark, and it’s the fourth-best mark in Lock Haven history.
