David Lindsay Makes Central Mountain History with Fourth Consecutive District 6 Tennis Title

ALTOONA-David Lindsay made Central Mountain History Wednesday at PIAA AAA Singles Districts by becoming the first Wildcat to win 4 consecutive District 6 Tennis titles. David played Mark Sandow from State College in the finals at the Gorilla House in Altoona. A rematch of last year’s finals. David started fast in the first set by winning the opening game and kept the pressure on Mark throughout the entire set. Up 5-0, the set finished with a furry of baseline rallies from Mark and David.  David came out on top with a clean sheet to finish off the first set, 6-0. David didn’t waste any time in the second set either to put points on the board. His serves were on point and he held serve, broke Mark in the second game, and didn’t look back to a 6-0 second set. “It is nice to see David playing at a high late in the season. He has worked extremely hard over the years to get where he is today. He should be very proud of his accomplishments,” said Coach Brinker.

David has accomplished something no other boy’s tennis player has in Central Mountain history by winning his fourth District title today. In addition, this feat has not been done in District 6 AAA since it was accomplished between 1993-1996. With the tournament win, David will represent the Wildcats in Hershey on May 24 at the Hershey Racquet Club.
