LHU Tennis drops home contest vs. Kutztown
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven tennis team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match to Kutztown, 5-2, at home on Wednesday (April 24).
The Bald Eagles move to 8-4 overall and 2-4 in the conference, and Kutztown improves to 7-9 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
Kutztown took two of the three doubles matches, giving them the overall doubles point for the contest.
In doubles, Natalie Brown (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) and Claire Long (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) won their matches at No. 3, 6-4. This marks their third victory as a team, and they remain undefeated.
The Bald Eagles took two singles matches this afternoon.
At No. 5 singles, Olivia Sharp (York, Pa./York County School of Technology) took her match 7-5 and 6-4 to earn her sixth singles win of the season.
Alaina Marchioni (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) won her match at No. 6 singles. Marchioni won the first set 6-4 and dropped the second set 3-6, then squeezed out the 10-8 win in the tiebreaker. With this victory, Marchioni picked up her fifth win of the season.
