Central Mountain’s fast start takes down Braves 12-2

MILL HALL- Central Mountain baseball capped off an impressive week by quickly taking care of Shamokin Friday night in Mill Hall, 12-2.
The Wildcats impressive week, which included wins over State College, Williamsport, at a tough Loyalsock team and now a win over Shamokin has them at an impressive 8-1.
A seven run bottom of the first inning from the Wildcats had them on cruise control from there on out. Central Mountain would add another run in the bottom of the second inning. The Braves would score in their half of the third inning to trail 8-1.
The Wildcats extended their lead to 9-1 before Shamokin would cross a run in the top of the fifth. Central Mountain would respond with three runs in their next at bat to seal the 12-2 victory.
Gardner Fravel led the CM hitting attack with a trio of base hits. Elek Fravel, Brady Lavelle, Connor Foltz and Jase Seltzer also had multiple hit games with two apiece. Kevin Grenninger, Blake Walker, Austin Frank, Chase Beard and Watt Probst also were part of 16 hits from the Wildcats.Walker and Probst both connected on doubles.
Gage Bower picked up the win on the mound for Central Mountain. Bower struck out five Brave batters in 5 innings of work.
Central Mountain will be next in action on Monday when they are set to travel to Milton.
