Chance Marsteller ’19 set for U.S. Olympic Team Trials
LOCK HAVEN- Chance Marsteller, a 2019 Lock Haven graduate and former two-time All-American for the men’s Division I wrestling team, is set to compete at the 2024 United States Olympic Team Trials, to be held Friday and Saturday, April 19-20 at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center.
The former Bald Eagle standout will enter the trials seeded second in the 86 kg challenge tournament bracket.
In September, Marsteller represented Team USA at the 2023 Senior World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Marsteller booked his world championship team spot last June by besting former Olympic gold medalist and World Champion Jordan Burroughs in a best-of-three series at 79 kg to win the 2023 Final X event.
Following the 2018-19 season, Marsteller’s final season at The Haven, he was named both the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Year. During the 2017-18 season, Marsteller won a school-record 44 matches.
