Central Mountain Tennis Downs Jersey Shore in Doubleheader 5-0, 4-1

MILL HALL-The Central Mountain Tennis team was back in action Tuesday afternoon as it celebrated Seniors on the team taking on local rival Jersey Shore. The Wildcats dominated Match 1 blanking Jersey Shore 5-0 and in Match 2 winning 4-1.

It was a momentous occasion, especially for the seniors of Central Mountain. David Lindsay, Asher Talbot, Joe Caimi, and Wyatt Gallagher, though sidelined with an injury, played their hearts out, leaving an indelible mark on the court.

From the onset, it was evident that Central Mountain meant business. David Lindsay, with his impeccable technique and unwavering focus, dominated the Singles match against Ryder Fink, securing a flawless victory of 6-0, 6-0.

Following suit, Asher Talbot who outmaneuvered his opponent Matt Fravel with finesse, claiming a decisive win of 6-2, 6-1.

Not to be outdone, Joey McCluskey displayed his tenacity, overpowering Saul Hasker with a score of 6-1, 6-1, further solidifying Central Mountain’s dominance in the Singles matches.

The Doubles matches proved to be equally exhilarating. Despite facing stiff competition, Tim Brinker and Joe Caimi exhibited remarkable teamwork, clinching a hard-fought victory against Abe Paulhamus and Charlie Poryant with a nail-biting tiebreak score of 7-5, 6-6 (11-9).

Meanwhile, Ben Brinker and Wesly Cowart showcased their resilience in the face of adversity. After dropping the first set, they rallied back with determination, ultimately defeating Luke Sarge and Demick & Grubb with a score of 2-6, 6-2, (11-8).

As the final scores were tallied, Central Mountain emerged triumphant in the first match with the 5-0 victory.

In the second match, Central Mountain continued to dominate, with David Lindsay once again delivering a flawless performance, securing another victory against Ryder Fink.

Asher Talbot maintained his winning streak, overpowering Matt Fravel with ease, while Joey McCluskey showcased his consistency, defeating Saul Hasker with a commanding score.

Although Tim Brinker and Joe Caimi faced a setback in the Doubles match, Central Mountain’s overall performance remained strong, with Ben Brinker and Wesly Cowart securing another win for the team.

As the final point were scored Central Mountain claimed the win in Match 2 4-1.

Up Next the Wildcats will be a home Quad-Meet on Thursday against Altoona Area, Galeton Area, Mifflin County.
