LHU Women’s Track & Field hits PSAC qualifying marks

LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven women’s outdoor track & field team turned in a busy weekend of competition as the Bald Eagles sent athletes to compete at both the Susquehanna River Hawk Multi and Invite (Fri. – Sat.) and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic (Sat. – Sun).

The Haven women turned in a number of strong individual performances and collected several 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship qualifying marks.

Leading the way today (Sunday, April 14) was Aubrey Sechrist (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) who ran an impressive time of 2:20.68 in the 800-meter run. It was under the PSAC championship standard.

Hunter Barger (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) hit a PSAC time in the 400-meter dash with an outing of 59.32.

Natalie Gentzel (Yaphank, N.Y./Bellport) ran to a PSAC time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.65.

On Saturday (April 13) at Bucknell, Elaina Klinger (Danville, Pa./Danville) and Reagon Irons (Tyrone, Pa./Tryone) led the way with PSAC championship qualifying marks.

Running in the 5,000-meter invitational field, Klinger ran a PSAC time of 17:48.30.

Irons jumped to a PSAC mark of 5-01.75 in the high jump.

Throwers Mallory Eck (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) and Clarissa Davis (York, Pa./Central York) both threw well on Saturday in the discus throw (121-07) and shot put (38-04), respectively.

Competing Saturday (April 13) at Susquehanna’s River Hawk Multi and Invite, Heather Leskovansky (Wingate, Pa./Bald Eagle) led the way with a third-place finish in the pole vault.

Up Next for Lock Haven:

It will be a short layoff for the Bald Eagles as The Haven plans to return to action on Wednesday, April 17 at Shippensburg’s Mid-Week Invitational.
