Central Mountain Tennis Falls to Lewisburg

MILL HALL – The Central Mountain High School boys’ tennis team finally kicked off their season at home Monday against Lewisburg. Despite a determined effort from the Wildcats, the visiting Green Dragons proved too strong, securing a 4-1 victory.

The Wildcats found an early spark as David Lindsay clinched a win with a score of 6-0, benefitting from a default by Eddi Moraco. However, Lewisburg quickly turned the tide, overpowering Central Mountain in both singles and doubles matches.

In singles action, Asher Talbot and Joey McCluskey fought hard but ultimately succumbed to the skillful play of their Lewisburg counterparts. Similarly, in doubles play, Central Mountain’s teams, led by Tim Brinker and Joe Caimi, as well as Ben Brinker and Wesly Cowart, faced tough opposition and were unable to secure victories.

Despite the setback, the Wildcats remain undeterred as they prepare for their next challenge. Up next, Central Mountain will be right back at it Tuesday and are set to face Shikellamy at Gibson Tennis Complex  at 4:00 p.m.
