LHU Baseball falls twice at No. 24 ESU

EAST STROUDSBURG – The Lock Haven baseball team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division series at No. 24 East Stroudsburg, 5-0, 11-2, on the road on Sunday afternoon (March 10).

The Bald Eagles fall to 3-11 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC East. No. 24 ESU improves to 11-3 overall with a 4-0 mark in the Eastern Division.

Game One: #24 East Stroudsburg 5, Lock Haven 0

ESU scored five runs on a game-high 10 hits, while holding the Bald Eagles off the scoreboard on three hits to secure the victory.

Zachary McEllroy (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) was the standout on offense as he recorded every Bald Eagle hit, finishing the game 3-for-3.

Despite the loss, Bald Eagle starter Garrett Starr (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) was effective through 4 and 2/3 innings, allowing four runs and striking out a pair.

Game Two: #24 East Stroudsburg 11, Lock Haven 2

ESU carried the momentum into game two and scored seven runs through the first two innings. The Warriors extended their lead to 11-0 after a three-run bottom of the sixth, before Lock Haven got on the board with two runs during its final at-bats.

Jake Ambrosio (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) finished with two singles and a run scored.

Francisco Taveras (Muhlenberg, Pa./Muhlenberg) drove in a pair with a two-RBI triple.

Lance Baldensperger (Warren, Pa./Warren) added a hit and run scored.

NEXT UP

The Bald Eagles are back on the diamond on Friday, March 15 to kick off a four-game series with Bloomsburg, beginning on the road with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
