Busy Weekend of Sports in Clinton County and Beyond
MILL HALL – Sports teams across Clinton County and the state are gearing up for an eventful weekend of postseason action. Here’s a rundown of the upcoming events:
- Central Mountain Boys Wrestling: The team will be well represented with 10 wrestlers at the Northwest Regional AAA Tournament in Altoona. Matches kick off on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and continue on Saturday, with the finals scheduled for 5:15 p.m. TheRecord-Online will be providing live audio/video coverage of the tournament.
2. Central Mountain Girls Wrestling: Making history, the girls’ team will participate in the inaugural PIAA-sanctioned District championships at the University of Pitt-Johnstown. The action starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, featuring competitors from Districts 5, 6, and 9.
3. Central Mountain Swimmers: Their quest for states begins at Districts, held on both Friday and Saturday at the Penn State McCoy Natatorium in State College.
4. Sugar Valley Boys Wrestling: Three wrestlers from Sugar Valley will compete in the District 4 Class AA Wrestling Tournament at Williamsport High School Friday and Saturday.
5. Bucktail Boys and Girls Basketball: In a thrilling doubleheader, the Bucktail Boys Basketball team faces off against Northumberland Christian at 6 p.m. in Loyalsock. Following their game, the Bucktail girls take on Meadowbrook Christian at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on TheRecord-Online.
