LHU’s Lingenfelter named NCBWA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week
LOCK HAVEN– Lock Haven baseball starting pitcher Matt Lingenfelter (State College, Pa./State College) was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Lingenfelter struck out seven hitters in five-complete innings, while allowing just one earned run to lead the Bald Eagles to an 8-2 victory over Virginia State on Saturday.
His seven strikeouts are the second highest total in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) this season.
Lock Haven started the season a perfect 2-0 with a sweep over Virginia State on the road. The offense put up 16 runs, while limiting the Trojans to just three total runs on the afternoon.
Baseball is back on the diamond on Friday, Feb. 23 when they kick off four games in Wilson, North Carolina with a non-conference doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. against West Virginia State before taking on Jefferson at 2:30 p.m.
