Central Mountain Bocce gets win over Bald Eagle Area
MILL HALL-In a matchup that had fans on the edge of their seats, the Central Mountain Bocce Team clashed with the visiting Bald Eagle Area squad in an action packed contest on Monday. After a series of rounds spread across two 30-minute games, Central Mountain emerged victorious, clinching a win in the first game and tying the second, ultimately securing the meet win.
The opening game set the stage for the day, as both teams displayed their skills. Central Mountain drew first points, claiming a single point in the initial frame. However, Bald Eagle Area swiftly countered, notching two points in the second frame and another in the third. Undeterred, the Wildcats rallied in the fourth frame, securing a solid three points and turning the tide in their favor. They added another point in the fifth frame, maintaining their lead. Despite Bald Eagle Area’s efforts to stage a comeback, they could only manage to score one point in the sixth frame, resulting in a hard-fought 5-4 victory for Central Mountain.
The intensity carried over into the second game, with Central Mountain seizing an early lead by scoring one point in each of the first two frames, followed by an impressive three points in the third frame. However, Bald Eagle Area didn’t back down from the challenge, matching Central Mountain’s score with one point in each of the frame four and five and three points in the final frame. With the second game ending in a tie, it was Central Mountain’s victory in the first game that secured the win.
As Central Mountain savored their hard-earned win, they prepare for a match with Warrior Run set to visit on Wednesday.
