Penns Valley Downs Lady Wildcats 35-25
MILL HALL-Central Mountain Lady Wildcats after a busy road stretch returned home Monday for their second home game of the season. The Lady Wildcats 6-4 on the season would take on Penns Valley Lady Rams coming into the night with a 3-7 record. Penns Valley battled throughout and would claim victory with a 35-25 win.
The game got started with both teams playing aggressive ball. The Lady Wildcats kept driving down the middle and putting shots up. The Lady Rams would answer. After one quarter of play the score was tied 10-10.
The Penns Valley Lady Rams would continue in the second putting impressive pressure with their full court man-to-man defense. At the half Penns Valley would push ahead to lead 21-14.
Penns Valley lead 33-20 after three. The Wildcats wouldn’t give up and hold the Lady Rams to only 2 points in the final quarter. Jump balls, turnovers and missed shots would prove to be a problem for the Lady Wildcats.
Freshman Camdyn Weaver led the night for the Lady Wildcats with 11 points. Also scoring were Keely Rohrbach 4, Ava Doyle 4, Taylor Doyle 3, and Lena Walker 3. Walker had the team’s lone 3-pointer.
Elle Dinges led with 9 points for the Lady Rams. Ellie Romig delivered with 5. Followed by 4 from each Kayla Hopkins and Jadyn Alexander.
The loss dropped CM to 6-5 on the season. They will hit the road visiting Lewisburg Tuesday and a strong Jersey Shore team on Friday before hitting a home stretch of games next week.
Penns Valley took the JV game.
The Win moves Penns Valley to 4-7 on the season.
