LH Women’s Basketball soars past Concord for first victory

GREENSBURG, PA – The Lock Haven women’s basketball team finished its weekend at the Atlantic Regional Challenge hosted by Seton Hill University with an 84-64 non-conference victory over Concord University on Saturday.

The Bald Eagles improve to 1-1 overall on the season, while Concord falls to 0-2.

Jenadia Jordan (York, Pa./Linden Hall) led the Bald Eagles with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting, adding four rebounds and two steals. Jordan averaged 20 points over the weekend, after finishing with a team-high 21 points on Friday night.

Rhlyn Rouse (York, Pa./York Tech) and Alana Robinson (Rockaway, N.J./Pope John Paul II) each scored 13 points, while Rouse added five rebounds and Robinson added seven.

Brooke Lawyer (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) and Carly Fitzmorris (Hamburg, N.J./Pope John XXIII) rounded out the Bald Eagles in double-figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Madeline Evans (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) led the Bald Eagles on the glass with nine rebounds.

Lock Haven’s offense was scorching on Saturday as they scored over 80 points for the first time since November 17 of last season.

The Haven jumped out to a 27-10 lead after the first quarter as they shot 67 percent (10-of-15) from the floor and didn’t look back.

The Bald Eagles shot over 60 percent in the second and fourth quarters, finishing the game 31-of-54 from the field. The Haven also knocked down 5-of-10 shots from deep and 17-of-25 from the foul line.

The Bald Eagles defense was also out in full force as they held Concord to under 30 percent from the floor in the first half and just 38 percent (24-of-64) in the game, while also forcing 19 turnovers.

The Bald Eagles return to Lock Haven on Wednesday, Nov. 15 to host Frostburg State at 5:30 p.m. in non-conference action for their home-opener at Thomas Fieldhouse.
