Lemont robbery suspected captured in Centre County
LAMAR TOWNSHIP, PA – Lamar state police Monday morning posted word that a Lemont man charged in an early February robbery in Clearfield County is now in custody.
Police said Craig Steven Hauke-Miller, 32, is now in the Clearfield County Jail after his apprehension Sunday night. Their report said state police at Rockview had received word around 9 p.m. Sunday that Hauke-Miller was at an address in Huston Township, Centre County. They said he was taken into custody there and transferred to Clearfield County.
Hauke-Miller had been able to elude law enforcement authorities since he was last seen on foot after crashing his vehicle on Overdorf Lane in Greene Township, Clinton County on Feb. 15.
That was the same date that police in Clearfield County had filed robbery charges against Hauke-Miller. The charges stem from a Feb. 6 dawn-time robbery at the Fuel On convenience store in Chester Hill. The robber there made off with nearly $7,000 in cash.
Police had conducted a widescale search for the accused after the Greene Township incident and residents in the vicinity had been briefly ordered to shelter in place while that search was conducted.
