Phoenix downs Sullivan County, 36-30
LOGANTON, PA – The Sugar Valley wrestling team won a wild one Tuesday night, eking out a 36-30 win over visiting Sullivan County. The Phoenix used five pins and a forfeit to pick up the victory.
The win over the Griffins was the second this season, edging the visitors by a 31-30 score on Dec. 17. The victory put the Phoenix record at 5-3 heading into a home match Thursday with Mid-Penn rival South Williamsport (0-5). The varsity match is set for 7 p.m., the junior high opener at 6 p.m.
Sullivan County’s junior high team edged Sugar Valley, 37-36. Little Phoenix winners were Gabriel Standish, Toby Conoway, Austin Bush, Gavin Matter, Logan Leland and Ethan Bartenope.
