Wildcat girls win PV tourney opener over Juniata, 46-38
SPRING MILLS, PA – The Central Mountain girls’ basketball team used a dominating final quarter to post a 46-38 win over Juniata in Wednesday’s semifinal at the Penns Valley Holiday Tournament.
The Lady Wildcats trailed 30-29 heading into quarter four but outscored the Lady Indians by a 17-8 clip to earn the win and even CM’s record at 3-3. Juniata fell to 3-2 with the loss. Central Mountain will play in the championship game Thursday against an opponent to be determined.
Tara Mader led a balanced Lady ‘Cat scoring effort with 13, including 11 in the second half; Kiahna Jones was right behind with 12 points, and both had a 3-pointer. Taylor Doyle had 8, Keely Rohrbach and Ava Doyle each had 6. Danica Kelly chipped in with 1.
