Central Mountain girls’ wrestling grabs two titles at Queen of the Mountain
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Central Mountain girls’ wrestling team did well at its own Queen of the Mountain wrestling tournament on Sunday. With more than 300 participants, the event was one of the largest for girls in the state.
The Lady Wildcats claimed two firsts in the 11-12 grade category, from Leah Eisenhower and Kendall Wagner. Paisley Beatty finished second. In the 9-10 grade category, Gracie Johnson finished second and Emma Scarborough third.
Next action for Central Mountain will be the Powerade event on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Canon-McMillan High School in Canonsburg.
Pennsylvania presently has 86 high schools with girls’ programs. The PIAA requires 100 schools to provide programs to recognize a sport for championship competition. Central Mountain was among the first few to institute a program.
