LH men’s basketball poised for 2022-23 season; PSAC announces preseason coaches’ poll

LOCK HAVEN, PA – As The Haven prepares to kick off the 2022-23 season, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Thursday announced the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Lock Haven men’s basketball team was picked seventh in the Eastern Division.

The Haven welcomes in a new hoops season on November 11-12 when the Bald Eagles head to the Pitt-Johnstown Tipoff to square off against Charleston and West Virginia Wesleyan. On November 19, Lock Haven is back in Thomas Fieldhouse for their home opener with Wilmington (Del.). The Bald Eagles open the PSAC slate looking to make a fourth straight trip to the PSAC postseason with a January 4 showdown with Shepherd University on the road in West Virginia.

Head coach Mike Nestor enters his 11th season with the Bald Eagles and returns a number of upper classmen for the new year. Junior guard Eli Washington was crucial to the Lock Haven offense last season and posted a team-high and seventh-best conference mark of 115 assists and was The Haven’s leading scorer with 362 total points in 2021-22. Dymir Montague also returns for his senior year after starting 27 games last season while posting 9.7 points per game.

The Haven welcomes large group of freshman and transfers to the 2022-23 squad, who will all look to provide a spark to Coach Nestor’s side.
