Maris announces state House candidacy
RENOVO, PA – A Renovo woman on Tuesday announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the state House of Representatives from the 76th District. She is Denise I. Maris, the Director of Human Resources at the Susque-View Home in Lock Haven.
Her candidacy announcement:
“Denise I. Maris, a resident of Clinton County, is announcing her run for State Representative for the 76th District. Denise is a qualified candidate with a master’s degree in Health Sciences and has over 20 years of business and volunteer experience necessary for our current climate. Denise is passionate about issues that concern our community. As a mother of four and a grandmother of two, Denise understands the struggles the American family faces on a daily basis. The pandemic has added an additional level of stress to our lives, as we try to find affordable childcare and deal with increasing costs. Between the costs of housing, food and fuel, our families are struggling. As a Democrat, Denise intends to fight for all the voters within the 76th District and is inclusive to all. Denise believes that a family shouldn’t have to make a choice between buying food for their family and filling up their vehicles with gas. Or that families with kids shouldn’t have to pay a small fortune for childcare which is necessary when both parents work outside the home. Healthcare should not break someone’s bank because of an unexpected emergency and our communities shouldn’t suffer due to the lack of funding to even cover the basic necessities.
“If you want change in Harrisburg, and if you believe in bringing people together for the betterment of the community, regardless of your party affiliation, then look no further than Denise Maris for State Representative.
“If you want to help out, please reach out to Denise at friendsfordenisemaris@gmail.com. Telephone number 814-954-0662 or come to the official announcement on Saturday, Feb. 19
at 1p.m. at Riverview Park, Farrandsville Road.”
Maris becomes the second Democrat to announce a run for the state House, joining Elijah Probst of Lock Haven who announced earlier this month. Stephanie Borowicz of Wayne Township is the Republican incumbent. She has not yet announced if she will be seeking a third term as representative for the district.
