CM Edged by Lady Warriors 1-0
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP β Central Mountain honored a dozen team members in their senior night pre-game ceremony but it wasn’t quite enough to to reap a win for the upper classmen playing their last regular season home game at Malinak Stadium.
Visiting Montoursville dominated in the offensive stats for much of the game except the scoreboard. The Lady Warriors recorded 10 shots on goal and five corener kicks on the night but manage just a single goal near the midpoint of the second period when Kristen O’Malley found the back of the net unassisted.
Central Mountain also welcomed back their veteran goalkeeper, Bry Hilty, even though it was only for a few minutes. Hilty was tested less than a minute into the contest and turned away the Montoursville attempt showing no drop off in effort after undergoing facial surgery only several days ago.
Alyssa Dickey filled in for Hilty and had much work to do as Montoursville kept up the pressure. ON the night Dickey added 4 more saves to the Wildcats tally.
Offensively, the Lady ‘Cats were only able to muster up two shots on goal, though the defense turned in a very consistent effort.
Next up for Central Mountain is a road trip to Milton on Thursday.
