Miss Johnsonburg will Reign for 2014
FARWELL – For the 66th time, a new queen was crowned in celebration of the Pennsylvania State Flaming Foliage Festival. During ceremonies held at the Bucktail Area High School gymnasium on Sunday afternoon, Alexa Jane Marciniak of Johnsonburg Area High School was selected by the judges to become the 2014 Flaming Foliage Festival Queen.
Miss Williamsport, Mikayla Bower earned first runner-up honors at the event.
Central Mountain’s Brittany Miller was named second runner-up and Miss Photogenic. Her escort, Mark Myers, along with BEA’s Dylan Burns were named as co-Mr. Congeniality for the weekend.
Miss North Penn-Liberty, Erin Shaffer, was honored as Miss Congeniality.
The event is the culmination in a weekend long event that includes formal interviews, luncheons, a parade, formal banquets and a prom … just to name a few.
The FFF committee spends countless hours throughout the year preparing for the annual event and many local residents open their homes for the candidates and their escorts to reside for the weekend.
Many of the contestants arrive in Western Clinton County on Friday, not quite sure what to expect, though the outpouring of hospitality and friendship extended by the folks from the Renovo area builds lasting and memorable friendships that these young people who hail from Austin to Williamsport … and all points in between … will cherish for a lifetime to come.
