CM boy booters down South 1-0; Weaver with game-winner

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Central Mountain boys’ soccer came away with the 1-0 victory Saturday morning at Malinak Stadium.  Visiting South Williamsport came in ranked #8 in the state with a 7-1 record.

After a scoreless first half with both teams exchanging chances, the Wildcats were able to strike late off of a free kick. After the ball bounced around and couldn’t get cleared, Senior Taylor Weaver was there to clean up the rebound and found the back of the net. It was Weaver’s first career goal, spending his four years of Wildcats soccer manning the back line.

Central Mountain’s back four and goalkeeper Clay Confer did a phenomenal job keeping the shutout. The Wildcats improved to 4-9 on the year. They head to #3 Lewisburg, the defending state champions, on Monday.
