Man critically injured in Lycoming County explosion, fire

Lycoming Township, PA – Montoursville state police say a Cogan Station man was critically injured, the result of an explosion and fire along Linn Street in Lycoming Township Saturday night.

Police said an explosion was heard at 9:30 p.m. and fire and emergency personnel responded and found a working structure fire with additional explosions at 3450 Linn Street.

Two occupants were inside at the time, police said, a 48-year-old female and a 46-year-old male, both from Cogan Station. Police said the woman was not injured but the male “sustained traumatic injuries” and was taken by LifeFlight to the Lehigh Valley Burn Center in critical condition.

The police report said a state police fire marshal is investigating for a cause. Police ask that any nearby residents and businesses review and provide any type of security video or digital video that may show the explosion or early stages of the fire; they may be contacted at 570-368-5771.
